The 8th Annual Walk for Memories in 2011 was a SUCCESS!
walk

The 8th Annual Walk for Memories was held at Confederation Landing in Charlottetown and the Shipyard Market in Summerside on May 15th 2011. It was a wonderful event enjoyed by all in attendance and was an undeniable success with a final fundraising total of over $15,000.

Through the hard work of Alzheimer Society staff and volunteers, the Walk for Memories 2011 was successful for another year. Special thank you to the numerous community volunteers for their dedication and support. We would also like to extend our deep appreciation to Metro Credit Union, the Walk for Memories 2011 major sponsor, along with our other event sponsors Cox and Palmer, The Guardian, Ocean 100 and Signcraft.

A big thank you to our guest speakers Dr. Jackalina Van Kampen and Dr. Janice Keefe, whose speeches were both informative and passionate, delivering messages of available support, current research and hope. Also a sincere thank you goes to Melanie Ramsey of Fit to the Core and Frank Quinn from Go! Charlottetown, who started our events off with high energy warm-ups. We would also like to acknowledge our refreshment sponsors: Purity, ADL and Pepsi Bottling Co. As well, we would like to express our appreciation to the music makers: The Unforgettables, Roy MacCallum, Johnny Fitzgerald and Erma Campbell.

Thank you to all who participated in the walk, gathered pledges, and donated time and funds to our cause.

The Walk for Memories 2011 was a testament to the fact that by walking together with a purpose we can provide help for today and hope for tomorrow.
