Come help us celebrate champions for excellence in dementia care in P.E.I!
The award was established in 2002 to encourage, support and inspire partnerships and excellence in dementia care. This award is the highest honour presented by the Alzheimer Society of PEI. It recognizes a person or organization that strives toward or promotes excellence in the field of Alzheimer and related diseases, and it is awarded during the Danny & Martie Murphy Leadership Award Luncheon each year.
Last year, the award was presented to the Parkdale-Sherwood Lions Club. The Parkdale Sherwood Lions Club purchased the house on 166 Fitzroy Street that the Alzheimer Society of P.E.I. now calls home. For one dollar a month, the Society is able to have a place in which to work from. Without this generous gift, this kind of space downtown would be unrealistic for the Society to have. The Parkdale Sherwood Lions Club has also contributed to numerous renovations and general upkeep of the building, which is invaluable as well. This type of commitment to the Alzheimer Society of P.E.I. is greatly appreciated and that gratitude was shown during this year’s award luncheon.

honour the Alzheimer Society of P.E.I. can bestow. This award recognizes a person or organization that works toward or promotes excellence in the field of Alzheimer and related dementias.
